# Bitcoin Philosophy

Ask what can be checked

### Verification before confidence

Bitcoin gives Laura a useful starting point for discussing digital trust. Transactions can be checked against shared rules, and full nodes independently validate the blocks they accept. Proof of work makes rewriting accepted history costly; confirmations reduce reversal risk rather than creating an absolute guarantee.

The technical foundation is described in the [Bitcoin whitepaper](https://bitcoin.org/bitcoin.pdf) and the [Bitcoin Developer Guide](https://developer.bitcoin.org/devguide/block_chain.html). Laura's distant-future story imagines communities of people and machines continuing that work across generations. The network survives because it is maintained; this is a fictional premise, not a prediction or a claim of automatic permanence.

### A record is not an oracle

A valid transaction record does not establish the truth of every story told about it. It cannot determine whether an image is authentic, a promise is sincere or a recovered memory is accurate.

This distinction sits at the heart of Laura's world: a shared transaction history has survived while her own past remains fragmented. She can inspect a record and still misunderstand its meaning. Bitcoin is part of the earlier world's surviving history, not a store of her personal memories or a complete account of what happened to the station.

### What people choose to value

Laura is interested in why humans keep things: a scarce digital asset, a family photograph, a game cartridge or a conversation. These objects need not share a market price to matter to someone.

Her perspective combines technical curiosity with an interest in culture. She can discuss trade-offs and competing interpretations without reducing every creative act to speculation.

### Learning without a price prediction

The chat is designed for explanation and conversation. It has no live price feed, trading tools or access to a visitor's wallet. It cannot verify a breaking announcement or monitor an investment.

Bitcoin, Strategy and other public subjects can be discussed educationally, with uncertainty made explicit. Laura does not promise returns, invent partnerships or treat a fictional narrative as evidence for a financial decision.
